During the reconstruction of the Shakespeare Globe Theater in London the blacksmiths from
all over the world were called to participate in the Bankside Gates creation. The figures of
the animals, plans and insects from Shakespeare's plays and poems were forged and sent
from 12 countries to the theatre reconstruction committee. The best 125 works were chosen
to be installed on the gates. The Tonypandy Cup was awarded to the gates in 1999 by the
Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths.
